Update: Some notes from the original 7/2012 mtg:
Cash Sutton chaired the meeting!
Six actually attended including the Section Chair, Frank Freyne, co-chairs of the Employment Network Committee and the Pace Committee Bill Grist and Raymond Roberts, respectively; Joe Pasek who was unemployed with an interview scheduled for the next day; and Raj Singh who is self employed but under-employed. We spent the time discussing our various careers so that those attending could have an understanding of each others individual capabilities. Joe’s background is in digital signal processing; Raj’s background and his business focus on printed circuit boards using lithography; Raymond specializes in patent law; Bill’s area is associated with computer systems and applications; Frank specializes in aerospace and radar systems; and I work within the power systems area.
The meeting agenda was not followed completely due to time constraints.

TO ALL CS Members, please note: the Foothill Employment Network (FENet) next meeting willbe held Tuesday evening, August 28, 2012 at the IHOP Restaurant in Upland at 7 PM.
Topics to be discussed are directly related to obtaining employment for our unemployed members, how to plan for career transitions, how to keep your career current and applicable to EE industry changes, and related topics.
Please plan on attending and continuing in ourdevelopment of the Foothill Employment Network activities. The agenda is under development so please confirm your availability and items that you thinkmight be beneficial. There are so many things to discuss but we need tocontinue our look at what is important for the individual career and our community. For example, the meeting with Dr. Blank suggests that it might be appropriate to have members of local businesses attend our meetings so thatthey can meet their potential employees. In order to do that, we need toidentify the companies in the area that match the needs of our members. Based on your personal profile, I would like each of you to identify two employers that you would be interested in working with and bring that to themeeting along with your updated resumes.
Please let me know of others items that you have interest in so that we can address them and determine which are most important to the group.
All IEEE Foothill Section members and other IEEE professionals are welcome to attend.
Best regards,
Cash
