Greetings Fellow IEEE Foothill Section Engineer!
We are currently establishing a GOLD affinity group within the IEEE Foothill chapter. GOLD(aka Graduates Of the Last Decade), is a program established within IEEE in 1996 to promote growth for students transitioning from being a student to a young working professional. IEEE members automatically become members once they graduate with their first engineering degree. This membership lasts until 10 years after graduation.
GOLD is designed to help young professionals develop as they search for employment, start new jobs, and continue to grow professionally. Establishment of this affinity group will provide you with a strong opportunity to connect with other members of your peer group within the Foothill section community. This group will provide many opportunities to join in professional development seminars such as resume workshops, interview techniques, continuing education, and career guidance. Yes, we will be exploring the important topic of how to advance in your current job, how to build building your engineering skills, and how to widen your professional contacts through the IEEE network.
In addition to these career development offerings, as a GOLD member you will have the opportunity to connect with many other young engineers in our area through various social, volunteer, recruitment, and educational events. Who is ready for some Friday afternoon TGIF pizza, spicey chicken wings, and cool beverages gatherings?
I am currently building a list of interested members. Please send me an email at perezchristopherj@gmail.com if you would be interested in joining this exciting opportunity to connect with other engineers in our area.
Regards,
Christopher Perez
