TAX APPROACHES FOR CONSULTANTS AND ENTREPRENEURS Part II
For our next meeting on Saturday, October 26th, we have asked Aaron McLennan to return and give a further presentation on Tax Approaches for Consultants and Entrepreneurs. Aaron will discuss:
Tax strategies for Consultants & Small Businesses
Record keeping requirements
Payment structures – 1099 or others including offshore income reporting
Company structure and tax filing alternatives S Corporations, LLC, or Sole Proprietorship
IRS audit triggers and Tax obligations for your Employees
IRA and SEP
Bundling Diverse Businesses Active RE Investments, Amway Distributor etc
When do you leave Turbo Tax and go for professional help Credentials and cost
Aaron McLennan started working in the Accounting/Finance field before he graduated in 2000 with his Bachelor s degree in Accounting from Cal State Fullerton. He has held management positions at Home Depot and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and was the Director of Finance for the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA. In 2010, he brought his expertise of Corporate Tax and Accounting over to Grandfield Tax and Business Services, Inc. He specializes in corporate tax, small business and sole proprietorship tax, as well as monthly accounting and budgeting.
As always, this meeting will be helpful to those either considering consulting or with an active consulting practice, and those interested in starting a new business.
The Orange County Consultants Network (OCCN) will again be meeting with the Los Angeles Area Consultants Network (LAACN).
