Digital Marketing and Networking
For our Saturday, November 23rd meeting, we have asked Justin Slagel of Microsoft and SCORE to share
his expertise in marketing your services and business using the social media.
Many small businesses today rely on their website and social media to gain additional customers.
However, most small businesses and consultants don’t have the budget to hire someone to do this for
them, and they don’t have the knowledge and expertise to do it themselves. Justin Slagle, a SCORE
Small Business Mentor from Microsoft, will be discussing the basics of how to ensure that you have all of
the bases covered to get you the most exposure possible on the web through Digital Marketing. This
session will cover techniques and best practices with Search Engine Optimization, Pay-Per-Click
advertising, tracking your return on investment in marketing, and how to properly “engage” with
customers on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Justin Slagle, a Partner Channel Development Manager at Microsoft, specializes in helping associations
and communities in the western US with their technology needs. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2012, Justin
was a managing partner with one of the largest technology training firms in the country, QuickStart
Intelligence, as well as the West Region Chairman for the International Association of Microsoft Channel
Partners. With his vast knowledge of general technology, Justin is often found speaking and presenting to
large audiences across the US about technology, social media and website optimization. When he’s not
speaking to large groups, Justin can be found mentoring small businesses on a one-on-one basis through
SCORE.
As always, this meeting will be helpful to those considering consulting, those with an active consulting
practice, and those interested in starting a new business.
The Orange County Consultants Network (OCCN) will
again be meeting with the Los Angeles Area Consultants
Network (LAACN).
