Here’s a brief update sent from the floor of the Congress via Ray’s smartphone:
IEEE is 50:50 North America and other. Here it is about 60:40, with a lot of the 40% coming from outside Europe.
The presumption is that most attendees do a lot of volunteer work, and this is much appreciated here. I received my 25 year pin today.
The weather is nice today, after I bought an umbrella yesterday.
There were at least 1500 at dinner last night. Region 6 is well represented.
The goal here is to plan where we are going. A lot of the breakout sessions deal with resources for that goal.

Food is playing a large part in this event.
The breakfasts and dinners are good but standard. In contrast, the lunches are very exotic. The lunch today had guinea foul, lamb, ham, two kinds of fish, and counters with a similar scope of local salads and deserts.
