Garret Reisman – Director of Crew Operations, SpaceX
Presentation: Lessons learned from a non-traditional career in aerospace
Biography: Garrett Reisman is responsible for working with NASA to prepare SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft to carry astronauts. Reisman came to SpaceX from NASA where he served as an astronaut starting in 1998. He has flown on two space shuttle missions, during which, he logged over 3 months in space including over 21 hours of extravehicular activity (EVA) in 3 spacewalks. Dr. Reisman served with both the Expedition-16 and the Expedition-17 crews as a Flight Engineer aboard the International Space Station.
Claire Leon – Director of the Launch Enterprise Directorate, United State Air Force Presentation: Managing your career
Biography: Dr. Claire Leon, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Director of the Launch Enterprise Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles, Air Force Base, California. She is responsible for leading the acquisition, integration, development, production, operation and sustainment of the Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle Program. Dr. Leon held a variety of leadership positions prior to joining the Air Force Executive Service.
Most recently she was a senior adviser for Integrity Applications Incorporated
Debbie McKenna – Director Engineering Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Division, Northrop Grumman Information Systems
Presentation: The Best Decisions I Have Made
Biography: In her current position, Ms. McKenna directs staffing, training, and personnel development activities with over 1700 engineers supporting program execution and new business pursuits in multiple locations across the US. Debbie has had a distinguished career with Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems Sector for 30 years. She has held assignments of increasing responsibility in program and personnel management.
Kent Tobiska – President and Chief Scientist, Space Environment Technologies
Presentation: Advancing your career in space weather
Biography: Dr. Tobiska is the Director of the Utah State University Space Weather Center as well as President and Chief Scientist of Space Environment Technologies.He serves as lead U.S. delegate to ISO for the space environment and developed the ISO solar irradiance standard; he is the AIAA Atmospheric and Space Environment Technical Committee Committee on Standards chair. He actively participates on the AMS annual Space Weather Symposium organizing committee and on the Research-to-Operations Working Group for the National Research Council Decadal Survey. He also teaches the Space Enviroment class in the Astronautics Department at USC.
Ivan Rosenberg – President and CEO of Fronttier Associates, Inc.
Presentation: What I’ve learned during 7 careers
Biography: Dr. Ivan M. Rosenberg, the President and CEO of Frontier Associates, Inc., has over 30 years experience as a management consultant and change agent. Dr. Rosenberg consults with organizations to produce sales, efficiency, and profitability results far beyond what might be predictable by past performance. His engagements include organizational culture changes, strategic planning, breakthrough problem solving, team and partner building, innovative sales training, and training and coaching senior executives. In 2010, he co-founded The Aerospace & Defense Forum, an international community of six chapters and over 1000 individuals that facilitates communication, collaboration, and commerce among A&D business leaders.
