Abstract
The increasing integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into power systems poses challenges for operation, including grid stability, and flexibility due to their intermittent nature. This webinar outlines these technical and regulatory hurdles and proposes solutions, e.g., advanced forecasting, energy storage, grid upgrades, and innovative market designs to ensure a resilient, sustainable power system.
Speaker
Dr. Vinay Sewdien (Microsoft)

Dr. Vinay Sewdien holds a strong academic background in electrical power engineering. He earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical (Power) Engineering from Anton de Kom Universiteit van Suriname (2008–2011), followed by a Master of Science in Energy from KU Leuven (2011–2013), graduating Cum Laude. Dr. Sewdien furthered their expertise with a Ph.D. in Electrical Power Engineering from Delft University of Technology (2016–2021), also graduating Cum Laude, during which they participated in an Erasmus+ Exchange Research Project in Electrical Engineering in 2013.
Professionally, Dr. Sewdien has built a robust career in the energy sector.
