Prof. Nazila Safavi, BCS, MSEE, PhD, is a Senior Member of IEEE and a professor of Engineer, Computer Science, and Information Technology at DeVry. She has been actively leading the IEEE DeVry-University-SoCal Student Branch since 2020, where she has focused on building interdisciplinary collaboration and industry-relevant technical programming.
Her professional background spans both academia and industry, with experience in computer science, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. Prof. Safavi is particularly passionate about blockchain, AI, and the intersection of computing technologies with real-world systems and education. She regularly mentors students on technical projects, research, and professional development, and has organized numerous IEEE technical talks, workshops, and collaborative events.
She looks forward to expanding technical activities, fostering collaboration between professionals and students, and strengthening the local IEEE community.
