The Los Angeles Council’s and Orange County’s Consultants’ Networks will hold a joint event at DeVry University Pomona, on Saturday March 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kay Das, the keynote speaker, will share some of his experience with automatic road vehicles. IEEE consultants from the LA basin are warmly invited to gather, know each other better, have a light-hearted but searchful look at the Connected Car, and examine several important issues related to its realization.

Automating Vehicles: From Horseless to Driverless?
Biography:
Kay Das was GPS Program Manager and Technical Director at LinQuest Corporation in Los Angeles from 2007 to 2013, where he additionally led new business development thrusts in the commercial and automotive safety markets. He previously held responsibilities as R&D Director for STMicroelectronics’ Asia Pacific region. He is a winner of a Singapore Government NationalAward for “The Initiation and Expansion of High-value R&D and Promotion of Partnerships”. He has managed the development of several silicon-based signal processing systems with over 40 years industry experience. His current pursuits are the application of communication (such as 5G/ DSRC) and location technologies (such as GPS/ GNSS) to automotive safety. He holds a MS in Electronics Systems from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, UK. Now in retirement, his pursuits other than Connected Car include being an amateur astronomer and a professional musician. He is an IEEE Life Member and a member of several societies.
