On May 20th IEEE PES chapter and IEEE PES student chapter sponsored the second part of talk on LED application and design. The first part of the talk in the two part series was delivered by Mr. Ray Malki an electrical engineer and an MBA on May8th.
Ray is an architect with Hi Techarchitect. LED is an exciting evolution story in the area of energy conservation from the year 1966 to the present time. The application has grown from primarily a media for indication to a wide array of applications like lighting, display, annunciation and art. Most recent exciting development goes into folding, printable, flexible and Transparent LED panels utilizing Quantum Dot LED technology.
Ray demonstrated through various examples and demonstration models the evolution of LED from a simple indicating device to the present day full blown range of applications in advertising, audio – visual shows, Back panel lighting of HD monitors, Flexible and folding panels of LED creating an exciting array of presentation medium.
The talk was well attended by an audience of over 25 constituting of Cal Poly Pomona students and IEEE professionals.
