MATHCOUNTS is a nationwide math coaching and competition program for middle school students. The local (also called Chapter) competitions take place in February, state competitions in March, and national competitions in April. The competition consists of a written, individual, and team rounds, and an oral round, which is unofficial at the local and state levels but official at the national level.
